He often would just slip off the job, so to speak. Every time we realized this was what happened we talked about it. Communication has been the key to success. Every pitfall has helped us to learn more about ourselves, and has really cemented the idea that yes we both want this. We try to learn from our mistakes and use them as an avenue for personal growth. I think because the road has been a little bumpy, we have learned so much about ourselves and our relationship. It has been a wonderful journey. Good luck.

Most of my female friends tell me the same thing “Pharaoh you need to grow up and settle down”. This is of course with regard to relationships or in my case a lack thereof. My issue isn’t so much with the idea of a relationship it’s more of what relationships become from my experience and my observations.

My concept of long term relationships is “Mouse/Mouse”. What I mean is when two people become accustomed to one another and the mystery surrounding the two begins to dwindle down it becomes almost like two mice in a hole eating their slices of cheese at opposite sides of the room both wanting more. They eat the same American cheese everyday when what they really want is a slice of swiss or perhaps they want what I consider myself to be a “cat”. Sure it sounds much safer to be a mouse in isolation away from the hunters, but where is the excitement of life?

A man in a LTR becomes a mouse himself. He has given up the hunt and has resorted to a cautious creature of predictability. A woman in a LTR may have originally been a cat herself chasing a mouse or a mouse being chased by a cat, but once she settles down the game is over, once she knows and understands every single thing about her partner it loses all of it’s luster.
